Happy Merry Christmas

One snowly day, a little boy is looking outside from his house. His name is Sam and he is waiting his dad coming back from his work in the next town. His father is a post officer and during this season, he was very busy to send Christmas cards to town people. Sam couldn't have dinner with him for a week and he missed father so much. His mother tells him that maybe dad would not be able to come home on Christmas day. Sam understood about it. He knows how his father is busy and he is proud about father's job.
'He is sending dreams and hope to everyone. It's very important and wonderful job.'

Even Sam understands the matter, he is just 10 years old. This year they promised to have a dinner together.
On the Christmas day, Sam was waiting for dad from early morning. Sam knew that dad never say a lie. At the same time, his father was sending hundread of card to the house. And dad tought Sam that he could be back at six o'clock. But he didn't come back.

Before 12 o'clock, Sam's father came back. He had a letter and a present in his hands.
'Sorry, Sam. I couldn't have dinner with you.' Father said.

On the Christmas day, Sam found the letter, present and dad. He was really happy that his father kept their promise.

Have a Happy Happy Merry Christmas!!

This is not a problem for someone.

Do you know December 1st is World AIDS Day?
It is celebrates progress made in the battle against the epdemic - and brings into focus remaining challenges.
WAD 2005, themed 'Stop AIDS. Keep the promise.'

First, do you really know about AIDS?
AIDS is a disease caused by virus infection. The AIDS virus (HIV) destroys our body's immune system. The body then loses its resistance to bacteria and viruses that would normally be harmless, leaving us vulnerable to all kinds of infestions disease and malignant tumores.

This year 2005, it forcus on keeping commitment to stop AIDS at all levels: personal, community, organizational, and governmental.

So, what can we do?
You should know that you cannot get AIDS in these ways; a light kiss or saliva, shaking hands or conversing, coughs or sneezes, mosquitos or pets, food or drink, swimming pools or public baths.

The important point is everybody has the same right to live in this world, today. If we understood what AIDS is, how do we get AIDS and how do we prevent AIDS, we would be able to take action for someone who had AIDS. AIDS is not the problem for people in Africa or other developing countries. This is not his or her problem. AIDS is my problem and your problem, too.

Don't think AIDS is not my problem. This is our problem and we should think about this together.

Princess MONONOKE
There was a time, long, long ago
When people killed the Great God of the Forest.

Human face. Body of a stag.
Horns astop his head like the trunks of massive trees.
For what reason did the human take his life?

...The girl San was born a human

But she was raised by Moro the wolf

To be the Princess Mononoke, the defender of the forest.
She loathed the human who invaded their land.

The youth Ashitaka, delivered by fate

Into the midst of the last desperate battle
Between the humans and the rampaging gads,
On a journey to cleanse from his body a scar
And escape its slow curse of death.

Ashitaka and San,
Met in the midst of the carnage and chaos of battle.
What hope could there be for feeling of love
Born of a place steeped in heared and killing?

In the weaving of this epic tapestry,
Which current will prevail?
The battle between forest and human
Or the love between warrior and princess?"

-extract from the prologue of Princess MONONOKE-

This film is one of masterpieces of Hayao Miyazaki, who often called the Walt Disney of Japan. It was Studio Ghibli's 1997 release Princess Mononoke (Mononoke Hime). His works were already really famous in Japan, such as Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (Kaze no Tani no Nausicca; 1984) My neighbor Totoro (Tonari No Totoro; 1986) and more. Princess Mononoke was his first period drama, but he freely mixed periods and added elements that may have had their origins in Japanese history and mythology. And also there were ultimatery products of his imagination.

...Long long time ago, there was a man who saw with eyes clear and bright living in a small village. One day, he saved young girls from a monster (Tatarigami). At that time, he got curse from it. The elder told him that there were no way to clear up his curse. But she suggested him that if he went to the east, there would be some hints to clear up it. Ashitaka left the village and set out a long journey...
He met San at the river side and she cared for his mother, Moro which was a big wolf. At the time, she just left him a message, 'Go away'. In this time, he saved men who had injured. They were workers in Tatara, where making iron. And he met Eboshi at Tatara and he knew that she was made the course of his curse. Eboshi employed women as the main labor force and people worked there were respected her.

One night, an event happened. Ashitaka had a gun shot because he heped San from the people in Tatara. He died once, but he woke up from the death by giving power from Shishigami. To defend Shishigami, to kill Shishigami, Ashitaka, Eboshi, San, Moro and others made battle. Everyone had different belief.

Princess Mononoke speaks to us about the problems of environment, peace, human life and etc. Conflicts between human and nature. And two young girl and man faced these problems and confronted as the representive of nature and human. Especially Ashitaka tried to think that is there any ways which human and nature (forest and animals) were live together. But is wasn't easy problem. People needed to cut trees to make iron, in other words, it was to live.

We are facing the same problem still in present time. Many people are speaking out the conservation of nature and actions are going on. But when we think in worldwide, deforestation, desertification, population and other problems are happened now.

You would feel and think something that what can we do or how can we live together after you watched the great story of Princess Mononoke.

Can you see Kodama in your town?

mystery ??

Hello, friends. I'm Candy and a student of Apple junior-high school. Today, I'd like to tell you a short story, which is an event happened yesterday.

--On the street--

...I walked the way to the school and heard my name.
Sunny: "Morning, Candy. How are you."
Candy: "Hi, Bread. You looks happy. What happen to you?"
Sunny: "Come on Candy. Don't you forget about today's special event!"
Candy: "Oh, the piano concert. But I didn't know you like music so much."
Sunny: "I love music, but I also love handsome men."
Candy: "I see, pianists who coming today are nice men, right."
Sunny: "Maybe." She grined herself.

--Linch Time--

Sunny: "Hey, can you hear the piano? They are doing rehearsal in the gym."
Candy: "Yah, these are the 'pro' sound."
Sunny: "It's so exciting! Let's us go and find the best seat."
...We ran to the gym and saw the teacher who wore a troubled look.

--In front of the gym--

Candy: "What happened Mr. Tea?"
Mr.Tea: "Oh, Candy, and Suuny."
Sunny: "Could we get in the gym, Mr. Tea?"
Mr.Tea: "Well. The door locked and I cannot get in neither."
Candy: "But we can hear the sound of playing the piano from here."
Mr.Tea: "They told me to locked the door till one o'clock."
Sunny: "It's almost time. Why don't they open the door?"
Mr.Tea: "Maybe they are concentrated. I'll open it."

...Mr. Tea opened the door with a key.

--In the gym--

...We halted with a surprise. We saw three people lied down on the floor. And the sounds were coming from a cassette deck. We ran to the people and check them. They were all right, but they had breathed something which made them to sleep.
Candy: "Are you OK? Could I ask what happened to you?"
Lady A: "I don't know."
Man B: "After Mr. Tea locked the door, I don't remember anything"
Lady C: "Me also. I want to know who did this."
Mr.Tea: "I'm going to call the police."
Candy: "Wait, Mr. Tea. Before that, pleace check your bag."
Sunny: "Why, Candy?"
Candy: "Please check. Have your any valuables stolen or not."
Man B: "Where is my credit cards!"
Lady A: "I cannot find my wallet!"
Lady C: "Oh, my rings are gone."
Mr.Tea: "Look. Our painting is also gone!!"
Sunny: "What's picture. There were just an old painting on the wall."
Candy: "That painting was worthful, could be 100 yen.
Sunny: "Oh, my god!

...We have stolen our valuable stuff. I saw a window opens and noticed that there were two burglars. One was in the outside of the gym and the other one was inside the gym. Because the windows of the gym is small and people are not able to go through there. I knew one of three is a burglar. Let me tell you about these three people.

-Lady A is an old lady, about 50 years old. She wore black dress and tied her hair. She had stolen her wallet and she told me there are about 30000 yen in that. She is teaching the piano for children twice a week. Her husband is business man and they have two sons. She loves swimming and waching TV drama.

-Man B is thirty year-old and he is a single. He graduated from our junior-high and Mr. Tea was his classmate at that time. He wear glasses and neck tie. Today, he is going to have dinner with Mr. Tea so he brought extra money and credit cards. He studys at university everyday. He goes to a tennis club and also English school.

-Lady C is a young lady. She is a college student and studying abou welfare. She wore white dress and necklace. Her hobby is manicure so she had long and nice decorated nails at this time also. She lives on her own after she graduated high school.

Thank you for your commentes!!

Good mornig, everyone. I enjoyed reading all your comments and I'd like to answer them. Kuala Lumpur is a interesting city, you could feel different atmophere of culture. Population of KL city is about two million. And about ten thousand people are Japanese. You could buy most of the Japanese food and books at KLCC or other shopping centers. I told you that in KL, there are Malay, Indina and Chinese live togehter. Each people have their own religion. Islam, Hindu, Buddhism, Christianity and others. It means that you could see mosque, Hindu temple, Buddhism temple and church in KL. Because they work together, they need to respect other religions. Usually people celebrate on their religional New Year's and January 1th. But the city is decorated for each New Year's day so KL is a busy city. Percentage of the people in Malaysia is Malay-60%, Chinese-30% and India and others-10%. However, KL is not the same as this. I can say exactry percentsge, but I say more Chinese than Malay and more than 10% of India. It is because they work as businessman, merchants, doctors and so on. Finally, I tell you how high the Twin Tower is. It is 452 meters high and has 88 stories. And if you had a chance to visit KL, please try Nasi Goreng, Mei Goreng and watermelon juice.
Again, thank you for your responses. Have a nice day, all!!

Apa Kabar
November 3rd 2005
7-7-7 Dokoka-city
Yumeno-kuni,
HERE
Dear Stephanie,
How are you doing? I'm doing pretty well and I have wondeful days. If you were not, I'd advise you to eat chocolate, and some fruits also. Today, I'd love to talk about our favorite city, Kuala Lumbur in Malaysia. Do you remember about KL? I love this city and someday, I try to go there.
KL(Kuala Lumpur) is the capital and largest city of Malaysia. First, don't mix up with Singapore. Malaysia is located on the Malay Peninsula and on the island of Borneo. In the KL city, four languages are flying, Malay, Chinese, Hindi and English. So you don't need to worry even you cannot speak Malay. When you'd visit KL, I recommend you to go to the Twin Tower, which is a symbol of KL. Twin Tower is the second highest tower in the world (No.1 is in China). You could see the great view of KL from there. Next to that, there is a big shopping mall, called KLCC. You could spend all the day there.
I told you that there are four languages are flying. It means there are different nations are living together, Malay, Chinese and India. There are China-town, Indian-area, and many Malay-areas. You would be able to feel an exotic atomospher. People are all freindly and kind. They really want to know about other countries and make friends. However, please understand their religion. Malay people need to go to the mosque evrey Friday afternoon and Indian cannot eat beef, etc. Sometimes it is difficult to take thier all ideas, but you should try. Then you would be a member of them. In your country, I guess there is New Year's Day once a year. But in Malaysia, KL, people celebrate New Year's Day for four times. That sounds exciting, right. Besides the New Year's Day, there are many unique festivals. Each festivals have special things and you could feel different taste of cultures.
Do you recall about KL, Stephanie? I hope you do so. There are more stuff to talk you about, but I want to end up here. See you at the next chance.
Your sincerly, Sugar
